Shot description
|
1
|
This shot is filmed on the bridge and is a mid close-up shot which
allows the audience to see some of the character’s body language. We are also
able to see his facial expressions which are important for us to see how he
is feeling, because without the use of narration for him to tell us, we wouldn’t
know.

|
As we are still on the bridge, it would be best to film from the
bridge the scene where the people start the fight. As this shot is filmed
from a high angle, we are able to see a long-shot of all the characters and
this is effective because it enables us to see who is involved and follow the
action much more closely.
|
10 & 11
|
These shot are also filmed from the bridge, allows us to see clearly
that the main character is getting beaten up and we are able to observe all
the character’s without having to miss any action, compared to if it was a
medium shot, obscuring some important action.

Now we move onto in front of the steps. This first shot is of the man
at the top of the stairs, and we see a long shot of him coming down so that
we can look at his entire body language which is useful here because the
action is not as important to be shown in a mid-shot, however they could have
showed a close-up shot of his feet walking down the stairs to make it more
visually interesting for the audience.

|
The camera in this shot remains in the same place as we still film
the man walking down the stairs, until he gets from a long shot of seeing his
entire body, to a mid close-up shot and we get closer to him- giving us more
insight on his facial expressions again.
|

|
We then move the camera from the steps slightly to the right so that
we catch the view of most of the bridge and the man going down it. This
enables us to not only see a long shot of him, but catches the bridge which
can act as an establishing shot because it establishes where the action is
taking place.

|
As the camera will still be on the ground, they need to turn it
around so that we see the action of the people fighting, which is ground
level. This is effective because it is like we are there watching and gives it a sense
of realism.
|
7
|
This shot is very similar to shot number 6, where it again shows the
people fighting and getting more intense, adding an increasing amount of
tension. This, like shot number 6 is a
mid shot so that we can get detail of them fighting but not too closely so
that we miss any important action.
|

|
A close-up shot of the suitcase allows us to see in great detail the
action which the character is undertaking which acquires all out attention on
this and does not distract us with other things, such as facial expressions
which are not necessary here.
|
8
|
The camera then focuses on the ground as the man falls and a mid
close-up is shown as we see in detail what has happened to him.
|
12
|
The camera then slowly pans upwards as the man gets up, still
focusing on the mid close-up shot as we gain more detail about his facial
expressions and body language, gaining insight about how he feels.
