Legally Blonde- Opening Sequence Credits

The credits used in this clip of 'Legally Blonde' appear handwritten in a girly pink colour which reinforces the overall theme. The characters which are introduced to us all seem to have typical props which echo the title of the movie. For example, right from the start we are introduced to a girl brushing her long blonde hair and the other girls seem to wear really summery, pink clothess which make it all very girly. The non-diagetic music 'Perfect Day' is parrallel to what we see, as all the characters appear joyful, the bright colours they wear and the sunny day makes it seem like it is a 'perfect day' and nothing can go wrong- this therefore prepares us to feel in a good mood. The main colour of pink seems to be key here as it is shown through the mis en scene of the clothing, nail polish, bedroom, accessories, etc which is overexaggerates the materliastic world which almost appears unreal.
Furthermore, the setting is filmed on a nice sunny day where everyone appears to be doing something active, empathising the happy and relaxed way the character's feel which makes us feel the same way when we are watching beause no tension is being created. The lightening also contemplates with the 'prefect day' soundtrack as it is a high key lightening which creates a warm feel and demonstartes a typical chick flick genre.
